Heat the milk to around 140 degrees. (Whole milk with a fat content of 3.5 percent is ideal for a latte macchiato . This will help the latte foam better later.)
Then pour the milk that is not too hot and not frothed into a glass, use the milk frother to make milk froth that is not too firm. Half of the resulting milk froth is placed on top of the milk and left to stand for 30 to 60 seconds.
Then a cup of espresso is added - poured over the back of a spoon on the rim of the glass.
The remaining milk froth is used as a "topping" on the latte. If you like, you can add cocoa powder, grated chocolate or some cinnamon on top.
Notes
The latte macchiato is created by adding espresso or strong coffee to frothed milk.
